      For such a long period of time, there have been arguments about whether university should or should not provide students with practical training while teaching theoretical knowledge. As to this matter I hold the opinion that it’s university’s function to provide students theoretical knowledge, but not necessarily duty to give them career training.

      The first thing we should acknowledge is that university is set up for higher theoretical education while technical schools are designed for those who want practical trainings. University is the significant place for public technology’s researches with the academicians’ learning to research. As an undergraduate student, I am sure that 4 years are totally not enough for a student who takes the whole of theoretical both with practical cultivating. The principles and professors must choose one of them to make sure that we student can have a successful achievement in either theoretical knowledge or practical experiences. Obviously, according to the university’s obligations, theoretical knowledge is the one that administrators choose.

      Moreover, it’s an urgent thing for us undergraduate and postgraduate students who are planning for the job to take practical training courses for we don’t have any close training before. It’s a big challenge to apply for a job without any working or practical experiences. So, we may have the training contained into our experiment courses and lessons so that we can learn some in the simulating experiments. And that will be easier for us to adapt for the rapidly developing society and eventually find a job.

      In summary, I am holding the point that university should do more in theoretical teaching while take considerable actions or planning to support some basic compatible practical training for who need it as well. University just need to offers what the society wants and cultivate more outstanding elements for the public.
